[Xcircuit-dev] xcircuit build nit, web page issue

I attempted to send this to Tim at the address
in the source code and on the xcircuit web pages,
but the university seems to have disabled that
account temporrarily because of spam issues.
-------------------------------------------------
Tim,

I've been happily using xcircuit for several
years at home, and decided to use it at work
as well. When the RedHat RPM version didn't
work (clicking on the menu buttons never
produced a menu [1]) I decided to just build
it. I opted for TCL (I'm still using the
Xw version at home) and the "try before
installing" option. That didn't work.

When I run

        ./configure --with-tcl
        make tcl
        make lib/tcl/xcircuit.sh
        setenv XCIRCUIT_LIB_DIR ./lib
        lib/tcl/xcircuit.sh

it fails trying to start xcircuit, because
the shell script seems to think tkcon.tcl
is in lib/ instead of lib/tcl/ . I created
a link, but then it popped up a panel
complaining about not finding something
else in ./lib . I just installed it, and
that works fine so far. So the test
doesn't work, but going straight to
production does...

Also, the web page for Code History stops
at 3.1.4 . A bit out of date!

Pretty minor stuff, I know, but I figure
feedback is good (joke deleted). I still
highly recommend this software; I've
been quite happy with it, and have
turned out a fair number of vacuum
tube amp schematics with it; I also
use it for technical drawings, database
maps, all sorts of things.

Thanks again!

design company, doing vacuum tubes at
 home!

[1] I just found the note about Xw and
NumLock; I suspect that was my problem.
