Shift-Button-1 should work.  You can re-map the buttons and keys, which
is documented on the xcircuit website, if you don't like the Shift-key
plus Button combination.  Alternately, what I usually use is the
"Emulate3Buttons" function of the X server (XF86Config file, usually
in /etc/X11/XF86Config on a RedHat Linux system).  Some people find
this awkward, though.
