I should add to this problem arises when you compile the Tcl/Tk version
of XCircuit but the system doesn't have the XPM library.  In response to
Philip's problem, I changed the distribution so that it no longer uses
XPM files and calls, so this should not be a problem in the future
(at least with xcircuit-3.6;  I haven't made any changes to the stable
3.4 version).
