Dear Phyllis,

A Happy New Year to you, too!

Often the reason for this kind of startup crash is the failure to find
install files (in spite of my attempting a number of times to prevent
it from crashing on an improper setup). The ultimate source of the problem
can be any number of things.

If the gnu debugger is available with leopard? If so, try doing
(depending on the install location of the executables)

	gdb /usr/local/lib/xcircuit-3.6/xcircexec
	run

This bypasses the wish console, but I would expect it to crash under
the same conditions. If it does, you can print the stack trace with
"bt". Send me the stack trace and your "config.log" file from the
source directory, and hopefully I can track the problem from that.

					Regards,
					Tim
