[Xcircuit-dev] Behaviour when opening empty ps files

Hi Tim,
this is something that has to do with the way I use xcircuit.
I have defined xcircuit to be on the list of applications that can
open a .ps file when I use "open with ..." option from the file
browser in a graphical GUI context. In order to create a new xcircuit
file without opening an xterm I use the file browser functionality to
create a new empty file and call it something.ps. Then right clicking
on that new empty file and select "open with xcircuit" brings up
xcircuit in proper working directory. So far, xcircuit starts, but
since there is no prolog in the file, an error message is printed. The
problem is that the filename is lost so when I want to save the file,
I have to go back to the navigator to get the filename for the save
file dialog.
Question is, would it be possible to quietly ignore the fact that a
prolog is missing if the file is empty and accept the filename into
the dialog so that saving is just a matter of shift-W of save all?
Another thing is maybe it is possible to reuse an already opened
xcircuit when a new file is opened and give it a new page?

Kind regards,
Svenn
